Clough is pleased to announce an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract, in consortium with Wartsila, to develop the POM Power Station near Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea. The POM Power station is a nation building infrastructure project being developed by NiuPower, a partnership between Oil Search Limited (ASX: OSH) and Kumul Petroleum Holdings.

Clough CEO and Managing Director, Peter Bennett said “We are very pleased to be awarded this project. Clough has been working in Papua New Guinea for over 40 years now and as such we understand the need for this project to proceed.”

“This development will support the next phase in economic and industrial development across Papua New Guinea and we are delighted to play a role in that.” Bennett said.

The POM Power Station uses natural gas supplied by the PNG LNG project to feed 6 high efficiency Reciprocating Gas engines and generators. It will produce 58MW base load power to the Port Moresby power grid through a new 66kv power line and substation network.
