13 May 2009

Engineering and construction company Clough Limited (ASX:CLO) today announced that Clough and its alliance partners, Diversified Construction Corporation (a subsidiary of ASX listed WDS Limited) and Maunsell AECOM, have agreed with client LinkWater Projects on a Target Outturn Cost to deliver the $187 million Toowoomba Pipeline Project.

Located in Esk Shire, the Toowoomba Pipeline Project involves the design and construction of a 38 kilometre pipeline and a pump station with an initial capacity to deliver 14,200 megalitres of water a year from Wivenhoe Dam to Toowoomba’s Cressbrook Dam.

Clough and partners are already10% complete on construction of the 38km pipeline, and the project is on track to be finished in January 2010.

The project has provided a substantial boost to employment with around 50 locals among the more than 200 workers currently employed in Esk. At its peak, the project aims to employ one third of its workers locally.

“We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to deliver this essential water infrastructure project. Clough’s Brisbane team, together with partners Diversified Construction Corporation and Maunsell AECOM, look forward to a close collaborative relationship with LinkWater Projects,” said Clough Chief Executive Officer, John Smith.

LinkWater Projects, which is owned by the Queensland Government, is responsible for the design, construction and operation of the potable bulk water pipeline network currently being built in South East Queensland and is a new and valuable client for Clough.
