Clough awarded Reindeer Offshore Project

16 June 2008

Clough announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Apache Energy valued at circa $200m for the installation of the Reindeer Gas Field Development offshore facilities.

The award follows on from the announcement on 11 April 2008 that Apache Energy had confirmed Clough as the EPC contractor for the development of the onshore gas processing facilities at Devil Creek.

The Reindeer Gas Field (WA-209-P) lies in the Dampier Sub basin on the Northwest Shelf, offshore Western Australia.

The offshore scope of work for the Reindeer Gas Field Development includes the transportation and installation of an unmanned minimum facilities wellhead platform and the installation of a single 16” raw gas pipeline to the onshore gas treatment plant. The total length of the pipeline is approximately 100 kilometres of which about 90 kilometres will be installed offshore in up to 60 metres water depth and a 2.5 kilometre section comprising a horizontal directionally drilled shore crossing to link to the 10km onshore pipeline.

The pipelay and platform installation work will be performed by the upgraded Java Constructor with the beach pull and pipeline stabilisation from the Clough Challenge.

Clough Chief Executive Officer, John Smith said:

“Apache Energy has placed significant trust in Clough to execute this important Western Australian domestic gas project and we will work diligently to deliver to their satisfaction.”

Engineering work will commence immediately with offshore construction planned for the second half of 2009 for completion by the end of the year.
